"Dyslexia, Growing up, and reaching full Potential" - 7 March 2009
Date: Saturday 7th March 2009
Time: 10.15am - 12.30pm
Venue: The Ayr Hospital
Dr John Schneider, Ed Psychologist, a University lecture and a past head teacher, will describe his own experience of growing up with dyslexia, and explain how it need not be a barrier to achieving full potential, in spite of difficulties.
Dr Schneider therefore knows well the personal and educational struggles young people with dyselxia may have within education in achieving their potential. All those with dyslexia will be able to identify with his story.
Mrs Ruth Walker, Ed Psychologist will show the immense value of a full assessment for dyslexia, the first step in developing vital strategies to enable young people with dyslexia to reach their full potential.
Mrs Walker has considerable experience in primary and secondary education with local authorities, and has a particular interest in early intervention for specific learning needs.
